Where We Go

Where We Go: A Study in Transition

Life is defined by the chapters we finish and the ones we have yet to write. 'Where We Go' explores the beauty found in these transitions and traces the natural cycle of evolution:

The Feathers: Represent the letting go of old identities and burdens, shedding what no longer serves us so we can move forward.

The Nests: Focus on the need for a stable foundation. Before we can begin something new, we must prepare the space and mindset that will support our next stage of growth.

The Parent Birds & Chicks: Celebrate the act of nurturing. It honours the effort required to protect and foster new growth, ensuring that what we begin has the strength to thrive.

These works are crafted using the ancient medium of encaustic wax. The process is one of constant renewal: layers of molten wax are applied, embedding new layers of drawings within, fused by heat and finished by gilding. This act of layering mirrors our own lives and experiences where we carry our past into our future.

These pieces are not merely objects; they are records of time and change in our lives.

The exhibition opens to the public at Emergent Gallery (formerly Studio on Brunswick Gallery) from July 1–21. To inquire about acquisitions during that time, please contact the gallery team at adminsb@studioonbrunswick.com
