In 'Cradle of Possibilities I,' a textured nest cradles the potential of new beginnings, a visual metaphor for the transformative stages of life. This 20x20 cm expressionistic painting, from the 'Lifecycle' collection, resonates with the experience of celebrating change and achievement. The vibrant green, red-brown, and yellow highlights against a white background create an energetic yet nurturing atmosphere, reflecting the balance between the security of the present and the anticipation of the future. The sculptural eggs, rendered in encaustic wax with shellac burn, symbolise the promise of growth and renewal. The textured leaf elements further connect the artwork to the natural cycles of life. This painting serves as a reminder that within each stage of life lies the opportunity for transformation, making it a meaningful piece for those embracing new chapters and celebrating personal milestones.

  • Care & Cleaning

Encaustic paintings are highly durable due to the wax's resistance to moisture, preventing deterioration. This durability is evidenced by the Fayum mummy portraits, which were created 2,000 years ago and have not faded over time.

    For optimal care:

Avoid Direct Sunlight and Extreme Temperatures: Keep your painting away from direct sunlight and temperatures below 1°C or above 50°C, as extreme heat can melt the wax.

Handle with Care: The surface can be scratched, gouged, or chipped if handled roughly. Always treat your painting gently.

Cleaning: Encaustic paintings do well in a home environment. If the painting becomes dull during curing (around 6 months), gently buff it with a soft, lint-free cloth. Occasionally wipe off dust with a clean, lint-free rag.

Following these steps will keep your encaustic artwork in excellent condition.
