A 50x50 cm encaustic painting serves as a visual anchor for the early stages of a new beginning. Featuring a textured nest with sculptural eggs in navy, light blue, and ochre, the work represents the hopes we carry when starting a new family, career, or project. The nest itself symbolises the environment we build—the skills, resources, and preparation required to keep those "new" aspirations warm and secure.

This piece acts as a reminder to actively nurture your goals. It honours the effort you put into creating a safe space for growth, offering reassurance that when you prepare your "nest" with care, your future chapters have the best possible start.

  • Care & Cleaning

Encaustic paintings are highly durable due to the wax's resistance to moisture, preventing deterioration. This durability is evidenced by the Fayum mummy portraits, which were created 2,000 years ago and have not faded over time.

    For optimal care:

Avoid Direct Sunlight and Extreme Temperatures: Keep your painting away from direct sunlight and temperatures below 1°C or above 50°C, as extreme heat can melt the wax.

Handle with Care: The surface can be scratched, gouged, or chipped if handled roughly. Always treat your painting gently.

Cleaning: Encaustic paintings do well in a home environment. If the painting becomes dull during curing (around 6 months), gently buff it with a soft, lint-free cloth. Occasionally wipe off dust with a clean, lint-free rag.

Following these steps will keep your encaustic artwork in excellent condition.
